Yay it's May! I'll let you in on a secret - tomorrow is my Birthday! Whoo hoo!
At my school, we are 15 days away from the end of the school year. It's always been tough for me at the end of the year, because I usually never know what's going on for the next year OR I know about half of what I need to know. Then, I go crazy because I can't plan and I just want to move my classroom and be set up and ready.
{deep breath}
I think it's just because I'm SO OVER MOVING CLASSROOMS. I know, some of you guys are super heroes with moving all the time. I've moved either a subject, grade level or classroom for the last 5 years now and I'm just spent. I'm also a bit of a neat freak and I HATE not being able to find anything at the beginning of the year because I have no clue where I moved it to.
On to Farley's Currently!
My big item on the Summer Bucket List - to get my son swimming with confidence. Living in So Cal, there's a pool in 75% of backyards and I hate that worry about him not being confident in the pool. We made big strides last year, but this is the year I think he'll gain independence and I won't worry as much!
I also want to start prepping Common Core and 7th Grade ELA. I think that's what I'll be teaching and I want to get the ball rolling on Common Core even if my district is a little behind.
And... relaxing is always good too! Blogging - I can fit it in better during the summer. :)
Happy Birthday! For your birthday present you can have 4 big (now) empty tubs to help move.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thank you! Mr. Principal seems to keep implying that I could get into 533. Keep your fingers crossed!
DeleteWow, That's a lot of moving! I thought moving 4 schools in 3 years was bad. I just found out our school times are changing from 8-3 to 9-4. Not sure how I will like it, but at least more sleep time. I only have 15 more teaching days too! Can't wait to be home with my little man! I am your newest follower! Good luck with moving!!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! I almost forgot....Happy Early Birthday! 33 isn't old but 35 is. =)
DeleteThanks! Wow - moving schools is so tough too. Last year, I moved out of my school to a new school, then back to my old school. Then at the end of the year, I moved rooms again. Madness.
Delete9-4 seems so strange. My school is 7:30 to 1:30. It's tough getting to work at 7am, but wonderful when I'm free to go at 2pm!
Hi Lauren!
ReplyDeleteI found you through Farley's currently. I'm your newest follower!

Thanks Kim!
DeleteI found you over at Farley's Currently. It's nice to see a middle school teacher on here! I'm a new middle grades (4-8) teacher, but I haven't yet decided if I want to do middle school or the upper elementary grades. :)
ReplyDeleteMiddle School is an interesting place to be, but I love it! Thanks for heading over from Farley's Currently.
DeleteHappy Birthday! Best of luck with your move. I'll be changing schools this year and am dreading having to pack!
