5 for Friday

Wow - it's Friday again.  Summer is really flying by so fast!  I'm trying to enjoy my last summer with my son before he's off to Kindergarten in August.  (OMG - why?  I'm not ready!)

Thank goodness I can join up in Doodle Bugs 5 for Friday!  It helps me think back about what I actually did this week... otherwise, summer ends up into this huge blur.

 Monsters University
The family got up early and went to watch the first showing today at 9:30am.  I was thinking that I would be the only crazy person to see it that early - WRONG!  The theatre was practically full and I have to say that we all enjoyed the movie.  It probably was a tad long - I heard restless kids about 20 minutes from the end.  Overall - my son really liked the Scare Challenge and was happy!

Scholastic Warehouse Sale

I headed out to the sale on Tuesday.  It was really great because it wasn't very crowded and I was able to leisurely look through the piles of books and pick out what I needed.  I probably spent a little too much money for my taste, I try to stay under $50, but I didn't.  Oops!  Sorry to my husband!

Common Core Posters

I made a set of Common Core Posters this week.  For 7th grade and 8th grade too, since it was requested on TpT!  They are cute, but I want to make some I can statement pages to go with them as well.

If you're interested:

Library Show

Every Thursday my son and I go to our public library, watch the free show put on the library, then return and check out our books for the week.  We get out of the house, watch a show... my son randomly picks two picture books that he wants to "read" and then - the highlight for him - we go get our smoothies from Jamba Juice!

The Book Whisperer!

I finally picked up my copy and started skimming for now.  It looks great!  I can't wait to really read Chapters 1 and 2 and put up a few reviews.  If you want to participate - the book study is held over at We Read, We Blog, We Teach!

*My star numbers are available at Ashley Hughes' TpT store.  I added in the numbers myself, sorry if they are a little large... I was too lazy to go back and reduce their size.  I'll have to do that for next week! :)
